What is a baby bee called?

A baby bee is called a larva. The larva is the second stage in the life cycle of a bee, following the egg stage and preceding the pupa stage. Larvae are fed a diet of royal jelly by worker bees until they are ready to pupate and transform into adult bees.

During the larval stage, bees grow rapidly and undergo multiple molts to accommodate their increasing size. Larvae are typically found inside the cells of the honeycomb, where they are cared for and fed by worker bees.

Once the larva has completed its growth phase, it will spin a cocoon around itself and enter the pupa stage. It will then undergo metamorphosis and emerge as an adult bee. The entire process from larva to adult takes around 21 days for worker bees and a slightly longer time for drones and queen bees.
